What are cheapskates you ask, why that would be the Broscious Family!!!

We saw on the internet last Saturday that the Pittsburgh Zoo was having free zoo day Sunday. Yay! We thought, free zoo day, that could be fun! Manning had never been to the zoo so what better day to go than when it is FREE. It is about an hour and a half from our home. We took the 11 year old, his friend, and Manning. The "Teenager" opted out of this fun family adventure. We took the Pathfinder instead of the van because it had more gas. We reached Pittsburgh in about an hour and 45 minutes then traffic came to a screeching halt. What is going on?, my husband and I thought. Could it be a game? A special event? A presidential visit? No, it was free zoo day and every other frugal mugal had the same idea as we did. We sat in traffic for another 2 1/2 hours moving at SNAIL SPEED (see post below). We arrived to the zoo after > two hours of sitting in traffic, many urinations into a coffee cup while stooping in the floor of the vehicle and embarassing every member of my family (hey, I have three kids you know), and at 3 pm (did I mention the zoo closed at 5pm). Other than being tackled a few hundred times while trying to look at the animals along with the entire state of PA, WV, and OH, I have to say it turned out pretty well:) And what lesson did we all learn from this? Next time, we will just visit the local zoo that Manning and I go to regularly. The pet store. Just as cheap and not nearly as crowded:)
